چکیده

This paper aims to propose a new approach calculate the quantitative relations between morphostructural similarity degree and map scale change in multi-scale contour clusters for automatic generalization. Terrain lines were extracted by pre-processing of unclosed lines, an indirect expression method relation was proposed based on terrain line hierarchical trees. Thirteen groups with different drainage areas loess geomorphy employed explore changing regularity indices scale. Finally, calculated using 52 points. The results show that power function is best fit among candidate functions, can be expressed same function, which facilitates automation

Mastering map scale: balancing workloads using display and geometry change in multi-scale mapping

This paper builds on a body of European research on multiple resolution data bases (MRDBs), defining a conceptual framework for managing tasks in a multi-scale mapping project. The framework establishes a workload incorporating task difficulty, time to complete a task, required level of expertise, required resources, etc. Project managers must balance the workload among tasks with lower and hig...

Multi-Scale Spatial Database and Map Generalisation

The constitution of multi-scale spatial databases is closely linked to map generalisation. Elements of a multi-scale spatial database include multi-scale data models, multi-scale data storage schemes, methods to generate multi-scale datasets and methods to access these datasets and present results. In this paper we proposed a formal multi-scale spatial data model with an information-rich struct...

Scale space contour approximation for shape similarity evaluation

Reliable and efficient comparison of two shape contours is presented. The shape contours are described by polygonal approximations derived using the linear diffusion equation solution. The vertices are extracted from the curve evolution generated in different scales, using the original contour as the initial condition. They are chosen between the points where curvature extremes exist, using a p...

Large-Scale Map-Making

Current mapping algorithms using Consistent Pose Estimation (CPE) algorithms can successfully map areas of 10 square meters, using thousands of poses. However, the computation to construct the map grows as O(n log n), so larger maps get increasingly difficult to build. We present an abstraction method for postponing the growth in computation. This method solves a much smaller problem in the spa...

Topologically-Consistent Map Generalisation Procedures and Multi-scale Spatial Databases

An important requirement of multiscale spatial databases is that topological consistency is maintained both within individual features and between co-displayed features for all scales at which they may be retrieved. Here we show how a triangulation-based branch-pruning generalisation procedure can be enhanced to enable its output to be used to build topologically-consistent multiscale data stru...
